Turnaround

And just like that I'm:

1. Angry
2. Frustrated
3. In agony
4. and did I mention Angry?

Probably the fastest 180 in weeks.

I went into Chapters yesterday to pre-order my Harry Potter book (snicker if you must, but I stand by my actions) only to be confronted with the biggest, most non-sensical line at the register.

No dice, I was on my break and didn't have an hour to kill - try 15 minutes so that I could rustle up some food too.

I go on a search for one of the kiosk terminals and an associate to see if it's possible to pre-order it there. 'Sure' she replies 'but it's easier to go to the register' she continued. 'Yeah, I don't have that luxury as there are approximately 20 people in that line as we speak and I don't have that kind of time' I reply but as she fumbles through the steps it quickly becomes clear that she's either new, and has never done this before, or functionally retarded and doesn't know her own intellectual limitations.

Almost 20 minutes later, our pre-order session is almost completed and then she's all like 'Oh, oops. I didn't write down the confirmation number!'. I am, stunned to say the least and approaching angry. "What, don't you kind of need that?' She looks confused so she asks another girl, who is also new and quips 'No idea, but good luck with that' as she saunters off into the distance. Finally a manager is summoned and she claims that I don't need a confirmation number blah, blah, blah and to just bring this shoddy excuse for a receipt (handwritten!) up to the register come Friday night and it should work out.

We'll see.

I'm going to see the movie tomorrow night. I figure most people will be waiting in line at the book store. I hope I'm right. I do not like standing around more than 10 people at a time.

Egads! People can be so clueless sometimes. Don't they train these kids anymore?

stephanie - good plan, I was supposed to see the movie earlier this week but plans fell through when a dude I'm kinda pissed at invited himself along... Maybe I'll get to see it tomorrow, but I really had my heart set on dinner

Maritza - apparently not, I just don't understand why she would attempt to help me if she had no clue what she was doing. I mean, yeah, I'd be slightly annoyed if she was all 'Uh, It's my first day' but I'd also be slightly refreshed by her honesty.

You should beat her with a flip-flop. She's probably wearing a pair :)

pand0ra wilde - eh, that would require effort and I'm feeling rather lethargic as of late...
