Still fighting it

"I don't want to be in a relationship" I said.

Relationships take too much effort, and I'm lazy.

and yet somehow, here we are.

I have a non-date tonight with a certain gentleman, despite what The Pansy thinks ("Dude! You're so in a relationship!") we're just friends - for now at least.

In other (possibly) unrelated news, I finally went to the doctor for my insomnia because it's actually starting to affect my day to day life way more than usual.

The results, a government high; I got 30 mg of Oxazepam [Serax] (which made me so junk sick that I actually called my mom, we never talk, to see if this was normal - apparently it is, which means no more Serax for me) and 2 mg of my old standby Clonazepam [Klonopin].

and I'm still awake at 2:45 am and counting...

ooooOOOOOOoooo that defines it as a full blown disorder now!

Just be careful with that shiat. <3

And sides... relationships aren't real until he's penetrating you and driving your car.

...well I don't have a car (or a drivers license for that matter)

no comment on the other part.

Yeah but keep in mind insomnia is flipping lonely.

(that was my first offical reply to a comment on my site on your site.)

Oh don't I know it, I used to have it really bad. It got better for a couple of years, and now it's back.

Sweet, huh?

I can never figure out when I'm suppose to take a shower again when I've been up for 34 hours.

Nicoel said...

Yeah I have no idea dude. So I'm assuming you haven't changed your underwear yet, but when you feel the need to change those you should probably shower while you're at it

I was kind of hoping for the other route.. I would know when to change when I took a shower...

Well that's the best advice I can give you on 3 hours of hellish sleep...

pharmaceudicals are NOT the answer.. try some "Bed Time Tea" or some valerian root, or hell, try some pot, drink a few drops of tincture and you'll be out like a light. Reading also can help.. stay off the chemicals, you've got stuff growing out of the ground that's much better :)

instead of trying to sleep, lay down and try to keep your eyes open, it works for me sometimes

Ugh...insomnia! I have it too...sex and bourbon usually help a bit...otherwise codiene is another alternative.

phusion - I've literally tried every herbal remedy under the sun, this isn't a new thing unfortunately. big pharm was a last resort, but I'm going fucking crazy here...

tom - I'll definitely keep this in mind but I never 'try' to sleep for more than a half hour if it's not working I usually get up and do something else for a bit and try my luck again

sushi - sex and alcohol are usually pretty good, as for the codeine, no go - I'm allergic

Michelle said...

ALLERGIC to CODIENE! That is soooo sad I'm weeping profusely over my keyboard. Well, I'll need to come up with another Christmas present for you. Blogmad hit...Bing!

Nicoel said...

its ok, because i'm allergic to codeine i usually get stronger (ie. better) drugs during hospital visits

Phusion: Sometimes you have no choice but to go the drug route. What's wrong with taking a little something temporarily? Otherwise, you'll have bigger problem when your body and mind start to rebel from lack of sleep.

Ginger: Screw Klonopin...it's not as effective if you've taken it a while. And its half life is too long. Have you tried Ativan? Works like a charm for me.

Valerian root smells like ass and doesn't work if your insomnia is severe.

Nicoel said...

s*- I'll check out ativan. I know Klonopin isn't really meant for long-term use but I was desperate. I have another appointment on Thursday so I'll see if I can get something else

Keep in mind that Ativan is in the same class of drugs as Klonopin, but for some reason it works better for me. It's all about body chemistry. Sometimes you have to "shop around". And of course, the less often you take it, the better it works.

Sorry to sound like an armchair pharmacist! It's just that I've been through hell, so if I can save someone else the trip...

Nicoel said...

s* - Yeah, I only take Klonopin if I absolutely have to, but after 3 weeks of not sleeping, that's where I'm at. And I figured I would need a backup if Serax wasn't for me (which it wasn't)

Michelle said...

Fuck the NATURAL way...you need lots of perscriptions. Yes, coming from the medic...perscriptions are the way to go.

sushi - it's ok. I come from a family of doctor and professional pill-poppers

My name is David Root and i would like to show you my personal experience with Klonopin.

I am 25 years old. Have been on Klonopin for at least 4 months now. Started taking it for anxiety and a chemically induced teeth grinding problem from an antidepressant. It works great. It helps with the teeth grinding, and I take a very low dose of it. I don't abuse it. Abuse it, and your asking for problems. I don't see a problem with addiction (I was in a situation where I was without it for 4 days, and I was fine).

I have experienced some of these side effects-
None, a little sleepiness, but nothing ground breaking

I hope this information will be useful to others,
David Root
