These girls from M.A.C. swung by the shop over the weekend to check out our new shoes. I have this hunch that they envy/admire us as much as we do them, but it's just a theory. A makeup artist acquaintance of mine confronted me about my supposed disbelief in wearing makeup. She jokingly stepped up and tapped me on the shoulder
"I thought you didn't wear makeup - but what's this? It looks like blush...".
I stammered, I'm not going to lie, I was taken aback - which almost never happens to me. I'm usually the accoster, and not the accostee.
"Uh, I didn't mean that don't wear makeup, I usually do, just not all the time and to varying degrees - sometimes even to the gym (but it's more because I didn't wash my face after being at work, than applying it expressly for the gym). I always wear blush and mascara, because I have no eyelashes, but um, yeah... Sometimes I jokingly refer to myself as a cake-face; I actually wear a lot more make up than it seems..." The other girl she was with said something about how jealous she was of my skin (all makeup and trickery I'm afraid).
Somehow I ended up agreeing to let her work her magic on me and introduce new colours into my palette. Only time will tell if I end up looking like a clown.
